What is SeaChange?

A women’s recovery residence is a structured, supportive living environment designed to help women maintain stability, build healthy routines, and stay connected to a positive community. SeaChange’s goal is to provide safe housing and accountability so women can strengthen life skills, routines, and long-term stability.
SeaChange is for women who are ready for a structured living environment, willing to follow house expectations, and motivated to build stability, independence, and a healthier future.
SeaChange is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
SeaChange is designed specifically for women and intentionally built around safety, structure, dignity, and supportive community. Our goal is to create an empowering home environment where women feel respected, stable, and capable of moving forward.

Horizon House and Anchor House

What is the difference between Horizon House and Anchor House?

Both homes provide structure, accountability, and a supportive environment.
Horizon House is designed for greater independence with residents managing more of their day-to-day needs.
Anchor House includes additional built-in supports including meals, transportation when available, and counseling services.

We help determine the best fit during the intake process. We want you placed in the home that best matches your needs, readiness, and stability goals.

Applications and Admissions

How do I apply to SeaChange?

All applications for SeaChange are processed through our simple and secure online form.  Click Apply Online below to get started.

Yes. We complete an intake conversation to learn more about you, answer your questions, and make sure SeaChange is a good fit. Our goal is to ensure expectations are clear and you feel supported from the beginning.
Move-in timing depends on availability, completion of intake requirements, and readiness for the house structure. If a waitlist exists, we will keep you informed and help you plan next steps.
SeaChange typically accepts residents through an application and intake process so we can ensure the environment stays safe, stable, and supportive for everyone

Costs, Deposit, and Rent

What is the deposit required for Horizon House?
The deposit for Horizon House is $250.
Weekly rent for Horizon House is $250.
Any additional costs (if applicable) will be clearly explained before move-in so you can make informed decisions. We value transparency and respect.

Accepted payment methods are reviewed during intake. We also explain payment scheduling and our receipt process clearly to ensure transparency.
We understand finances can feel overwhelming. Please communicate early—when possible, we will help you explore realistic options and create a stability plan.

Meals and Food

Is food included at Horizon House?
No. Food is not included at Horizon House. Residents purchase and manage their own groceries.
Yes. Food is included at Anchor House.
Yes. Each home has shared kitchen expectations to keep spaces organized, safe, and respectful for everyone.

House Rules, Curfew, and Daily Life

Is there a curfew?
Yes. Curfew is part of maintaining safety, consistency, and structure for all residents. Curfew expectations are reviewed during intake and provided in writing.
Yes. Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas. Smoking is not allowed inside the home or near entrances.
Visitor guidelines are in place to protect safety, privacy, and the supportive environment of the residence. Visitor policies vary by house and are reviewed during intake.
Yes. Residents can attend work, appointments, and responsibilities. Sign-in/sign-out procedures are required for safety and accountability.
In most cases, yes. House guidelines apply to keep internet use respectful and appropriate in shared living spaces.
We support healthy balance. Phone and electronics expectations are reviewed during intake to protect privacy, promote rest, and maintain a respectful environment.

Children, Pets, and Personal Belongings

Can I bring my children to live with me?
No. Children are not permitted to live at SeaChange residences.

Space can be limited. We recommend packing light and bringing only essential personal belongings needed for daily living.

Safety and Support

Is SeaChange safe?
Yes. Safety is a top priority. SeaChange maintains structured expectations, supportive oversight, and clear house policies designed to protect residents and support stability
Each home has oversight and support. Staffing structure may vary by house and operational needs. We will clearly explain expectations before move-in.
For safety, common areas may include security measures. Cameras are not placed in private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms.
Reasonable safety checks may occur according to house policy to protect the safety of the home and all residents.

respect, urgency, and confidentiality whenever possible.

We follow all HIPPA, 42 CFR Part 2, and 45 CFR 164.520 rules and regulations to protect your health information at all times.  We have various levels of security and policies and procedures that support confidentiality, all of which are federally compliant and disclosed to you upon admission.  

Transportation and Appointments

Do you help with transportation to appointments?
We make attempts when possible. Transportation assistance depends on scheduling, staffing, and availability, and cannot be guaranteed.
Yes. We aim to help residents connect with community support such as healthcare, employment resources, and stability services.

Packing and Move-In

What should I pack for SeaChange?
Pack light and focus on comfort, modesty, and day-to-day function. Myrtle Beach is warm, but indoor spaces can be cool due to air conditioning—layers are recommended. Laundry is typically available weekly. Suggested clothing includes casual tops, comfortable bottoms, hoodies, sleepwear, underwear, socks, shoes, shower shoes, and a light jacket. Bring basic hygiene items that are alcohol-free and non-aerosol when possible. Aerosols, perfumes, and alcohol-based products are not permitted. If you take medications, bring only prescribed medications and a list of current medications and dosages. All medications must follow house intake procedures. You may also bring a journal, books, recovery workbooks, a reusable water bottle, glasses/contacts, photo ID, and an insurance card.
Weapons, drugs, alcohol, paraphernalia, unapproved medications, aerosol sprays, strong perfumes, and large amounts of cash are not permitted. Revealing or offensive clothing is also not allowed.
Yes. Storage can be limited, so pack lightly, label personal items, and prioritize what helps you feel comfortable and grounded.

Common Questions

Do I need to be employed to live at SeaChange?
Employment is not required at move-in, but stability planning is part of our expectations. We encourage residents to work toward independence through life planning, job readiness, and structured goals.
Length of stay depends on the home, availability, and resident progress. Our focus is stability and healthy transitions—not rushing anyone before they are ready.
SeaChange is a structured and supportive environment. If challenges arise, each situation is reviewed individually with compassion, accountability, and safety as the priority for the resident and the home.
